D/s Positions

There are a number of "Schools of D/s protocol". There is the Western or
European school, the "old guard" which has its orientation in the gay community
and was One will find many practices among lifestyle people. This is not intended to be a rule book but only to share with you some common practices used by many. Every Dominant/ Master/ Mistress will have their own interpretations, wants, and desires. Hopefully the community will find these thoughts helpful. Again the first rules are courtesy and respect. Everyone whether Dominant, submissive, switch, hetero, gay, transgender should treat everyone else with mutual respect. Idle talk, gossip, is not appropriate. The rule is if you can't say anything good about someone, don't say anything at all. slave/submissive positions There are two forms of positioning. First there are those positions that involve training and obedience. Second there are those positions used in the administration of discipline and punishment. Some like to give these position numbers for ease of communication. I. Positions of Obedience A. Kneeling before the Master/ Mistress.... the first position of a slave These are the "at ease" positions. 1) For the pleasure slave - which is one "owned" or "collared" and in an intimate relationship with the Master or Mistress. When called to kneel. turn facing him/her, drop gracefully to your knees. Sit back on your heels, head held proudly high, eyes downcast in respect (not shame), back straight, hands on thighs - palms down, or behind the back, head up, knees wide (indicating her availability at all times to be used by her Master/Mistress).
2) For other slaves - not collared or owned but free. This slave is one under the protection of, or in a training/ mentoring (non-sexual) relationship with a Master or Mistress. This includes those in temporary service to pay a debt, or slave girls who serve their Master in a nonsexual way. Some Masters may ask their slaves to serve at formal gatherings of Masters and Mistresses or other free persons may typically serve in this position. Kneel the same way, but with her palms down and her knees modestly together. The position may also be done with the arms crossed at the wrists or the hands may be holding something, or hand behind the back. B. Standing The elegant graceful presence of a submissive lady is very important to her Master. This is a standing position: You make him proud when you stand beautifully, back straight, shoulders back, chest and head high, chin up, eyes reverently downcast at 45 degrees. Belly sucked in, hip turned. Whenever the slave needs to speak to her Master or another Dominant, never interrupt, but stand to the side and inobtrusively hold your hands together and out slightly away from your waist. Wait until you are acknowledged. Generally the Dominant will place his hand in the slaves hands to let the submissive know he is aware you are there. When the Dominant is ready he will turn to the submissive and ask what the need is. Any time the submissive desires to change the general location, the submissive is to let the Dominant know in the following fashion: you will approach him as directed above, and you will FIRST ask him if there is anything you can do for him (get him water, etc). If he gives you a simple task, then do it. Otherwise ask for clarification. AFTER that you may ASK the Dominant for permission to go dance, go to the bathroom, go outside to smoke, etc. You will wait for his permission before you go wherever. Slaves usually ask for permission from the Dominant to use the toilet.
C. Positions for Inspection. Here you are being called to attention. Your response must be graceful yet immediate. You should stop every thing at once and move as quickly as possible. 1) Standing for exhibition or presentation. Clasp hands behind the back of the neck. If positioning chains are in place connected to her collar, she should stand so that the chain, on each side of the collar is in the crook of her arms, and she is exposed in such a way that she can be properly exhibited.
2) Laying Inspection She lays on her back, her hands at her sides, palms facing upward. Her legs are spread wide open... she awaits Master's inspection.
3) Inspection for sex Similar to the inspection position, except once she has assumed the position she slowly lifts her hips up off the floor, as if beckoning him with her body, as if to encourage her sexual use by him.
4) Arse Inspection She falls to her hands and knees, her head down on the floor, knees spread, her hindquarters thrust high for viewing and/or her Master's pleasure. D. Ownership Positions 1) Collaring Position She kneels at the Master's feet and leans her body back, sitting upon her heels, with her arms extended upward, crossed at the wrists, and her head beneath them lowered in supplication. The slave should say in a clear voice: "I submit myself, Sir." or "I offer you my submission/service Sir." The Master/Mistress should take her wrists in his hands and say, "I accept your submission." Upon his acceptance the slave gathers her hair away from her neck to allow the Master free ability to put her collar in place. A variation may be that she will have her wrists uncrossed palms up presenting her collar to her Master to be placed upon her neck.
2) Slave Binding The second ownership practice is to position your slave to put on slave bracelets or binding with ropes. She places her hands behind her back, her shoulders pushed back and her breasts thrust outward, her hands clasped tightly with the wrists touching behind her back. She also may be hooded or gagged from this position. The position may be ordered as low, kneeling, or standing. E. Pleasure Positions 1) Crawl The slave/ submissive gets down on all fours, palms to elbows flat to the floor, her hips in the air with her forehead or cheek close to but not touching the floor and crawls to the Master's feet. This approach allows a girl to display her body to the Master in a variety of enticing ways.
2) Display This position may be used as punishment, display, or for transporting a slave. She lays on her stomach, face down and with her cheek and breasts pressed to the floor, face turned to the left with her wrists crossed behind her back. Her ankles are usually crossed, as well, as if for binding.
F. Leash positions
1) Kneeling. This position is used to attach a leash. She kneels, her back
to her
G. Position of Greeting 1) From obedience position: She falls to the floor upon her belly, face down before the Master. She turns her head and places her cheek against his boots, kissing them lightly in a gesture of love and submission. She may also lick them or dust them with her hair in this manner. 2) From submissive position: One variation used to express her submissiveness is that she kneels, bending at the waist with her hips rising into the air and places her left cheek. She might, at His will take her Master's right foot and place it upon her neck, moving her arms behind her back, crossing them at the wrist. A Collared slave often greets her Master in this way. To touch a Master requires permission, normally.
H. Prostrate This is used when waiting permission to enter a room and sometimes, to speak. The slave kneels touching her forehead to the floor stretching her arms out before her with palms down and fingers spread.
I. Belly In this position, she quickly yet gracefully assumes a position on the floor face down, her forehead resting flat on the surface, or her left cheek pressed to the floor, her arms at her sides or clasped behind her back, sometimes bound, with her knees never touching and crawls to the Master on her belly. It could be used for punishment, to display submission, or as part of an erotic dance.
II. Positions of Discipline or Punishment Corporal forms of discipline are administered either as punishment for disobedience or displeasing her Master, or sometimes just given for the sensual pleasure of either Master or slave. A. Pleading for forgiveness When the Master informs his slave she has disappointed and displeased him and he will speak with her about this, she will immediately assume this position. She kneels right in front of her Master with knees spread, with arms down at her sit. Shoulders are slouched forward in an expression of shame, head and eyes are down. She pleads for her masters forgiveness for her displeasing him B. Begging position She kneels on the floor, her thighs spread widely to allow her to lay her chest upon the floor, she leans forward placing her breasts and forehead against the floor, she reaches out with her arms fully extended, palms against floor. Variations: She has her wrists crossed. Her hips are in the air, or she is sometimes on her belly. Her ankles may be crossed or uncrossed. This is the position that shows utmost respect and from which requests are made from. Another would be to position oneself with her arms around your leg, pleading for mercy. All slaves should become very familiar with the manner in which their Master wishes this position assumed. C. Over the Knee This position is assumed over the lap of her Master/ Mistress either on a couch or chair. An over the knee spanking is administered. D. Positions for Discipline
1) Kneeling. When Master instructs his slave to assume the "position of discipline", she will first assumes the kneeling position, though with her arms crossed in front of her over her breasts. She then leans forward and places her head to the floor, first sweeping her hair forward over her shoulders to one side leaving her back exposed to the whip. Whippings, floggings croppings, canings, may all be administered from here. 2) Standing Variation: As an alternative the Master may instruct the slave to assume a standing discipline position. She spreads her legs about shoulder width apart and bends forward at the waist holding on to a bench, horse, chair, or post. With a straight back she beautifully presents her arse to receive the punishment.
3) Discipline with bondage: Use of a cross or bench is often employed in order to restrain the slave to take her punishment. These restrains often heightens the experience for mutual pleasure.
Sometimes in training, incidentally, or as discipline or punishment, the slave is not permitted to look into the eyes of the master. Indeed, sometimes, in training, she is not permitted to raise her eyes above the belt of the trainer. Also, it must be recognized that many slaves often, and perhaps all slaves sometimes, find it difficult to look into the eyes of the master. He, after all, holds total power over them and they fear to displease him. There is in circles of mastery, no discouragement, commonly, of eye contact between masters and slaves. Indeed, in the deep and profound relationships of love and bondage, such eye contact is usually welcomed and encouraged. What can be understood of the glances of masters and slaves by those who have been united only in lesser relationships? Too, to be sure, from the practical point of view, it is useful for a girl to be able to look into the eyes of the master. In this way she may be able to better read his moods, and desires, and, accordingly, be able the better to serve him, in the process perhaps saving herself a few cuffings and beatings, such as might be garnered by the less alert, more slothful, inattentive girl.
From the point of view of the master, too, not only is it pleasant to look
into the eyes of a slave, but there are certain practical advantages attached
to doing so. For example, one might, in her eyes, read desire, and thus order
her to perform and act which she, even though a slave, might not have dared
to beg to perform... Thoughts on Bondage and Positions: Bondage is often used in order to train a submissive in a position. Thus B&D or Bondage and Discipline. Sloppy execution by a slave will usually result in one being bound in ropes or leather in that position for long periods of time in order to help the slave remember it next time.

approach, which assembles practices that work for particular Doms and subs
and varies from area to area. What follows is a combination of perhaps all
the above, but weighted heavily more in the Western or European School. My
orientation is obviously hetero, Male-Dom / female-sub, but many practices
& principles will carry over to other orientations.
